Artist Bio — JodiMusic
Born in Manhattan and raised in the heart of the Bronx, JodiMusic grew up surrounded by rhythm, culture, and storytelling, influences that shaped her soulful blend of R&B and Latin pop. Inspired early on by powerhouse voices like Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Selena Quintanilla, Lauryn Hill and Mariah Carey, she stepped onto a stage for the first time at just four years old and never wanted to leave it.

Recognizing her natural presence, her elementary school music teacher brought her to the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club of America in the South Bronx, where she began performing regularly. By age ten, she landed her first national television appearance singing and dancing on The Rosie O’Donnell Show.

Her training expanded at Bronx Dance Academy, where she studied ballet, salsa, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. At thirteen she recorded the soundtrack from Beauty and the Beast and portrayed Belle at a Bronx Literacy Fair, her first lead theatrical role.

After moving to Orlando for high school, Jodi immersed herself in choir, dance team, and musical theater, later studying at John Blanca’s Modeling. At seventeen she starred as Gabriella in High School Musical On Stage at the Orlando Science Center.

Returning to New York, she trained professionally at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and began performing across the city at weddings, Festivals and private events, work she continues today.

In 2015 she won the Univision competition on Sábado Gigante with her performance of Como La Flor. Beyond performing, Jodi spent a decade as a teaching artist with The Leadership Program, using music and dance to support youth social-emotional development throughout NYC.

Her independent singles “What I Know” and “XTC” showcasing her signature of soulful vocals came out in 2018.

Today Jodi performs alongside her husband Ron Renaissance as part of Uptown Royalty NYC under their company Uptown Royalty INC delivering original electro-Latin soul music, wedding bands, salsa & R&B ensembles and jazz groups all across New York City. You can hear their original music on all music platforms.

New original releases are on the way in 2026 and JodiMusic’s story is still unfolding, one stage at a time, while being a wife and mother of two. Jodi’s mission is to show the world that we must never give up on our dreams no matter what!
